The chocolate hills is the group of hills seems like numerous bubble arising from the ground or a droplets dropped from the sky .Still number of chocolate hills are not exactly counted. It is known there are minimum of 1268 hills and some estimation says there are more than 1776 hills. These chocolate hills spread around almost 50 square kilometres and the distance between each hills are 30 or 50 meters .These conical shaped hills are not much huge ,the higher of the highest one itself reaches 120 meters.
This beautiful scenery adds uniqueness to this small island -Bohol. The DENR submitted this to UNESCO world heritage on May 16, 2006 but still not approved.

The green grass on this hills gives a beautiful greenish view in rainy season . During summer these grass are dried into
brown colour, these brown colour view become the reason for naming as Chocolate hills.
SCIENTIFIC REASON BEHIND FORMATION
Over 2 Million years ago, this area is covered by the sea, then the retrieving leaved coral and shells .After some centuries erosion ,wind , rain formed this conic shaped mounds.
Legend says , the fight between the two giants by throwing the sands and rocks formed this mounds
